Wolves maul Truckers

Showers of rain were a fitting accompaniment to the Trucker varsity football game on Friday, Sept. 20, which saw the Winneconne Wolves hand the Truckers a 63-0 defeat.

Winneconne jumped on the Truckers early, scoring 20 points in the first quarter.

The Wolves added eight in the second quarter, 21 in the third quart, and 14 in the fourth quarter as they thumped the Truckers.

Clintonville earned just three first downs during the game, while netting a total of nine yards. The Truckers gained two rushing yards and seven passing yards in four quarters of play. The Truckers threw three interceptions and fumbled three times, losing one fumble.

Winneconne gained 282 rushing yards on 30 attempts, while passing for 181 yards. The Wolves scored six rushing touchdowns and two passing touchdowns.

Jaden Doornink completed two of 12 passes for seven yards with two interceptions. Coy Hansen attempted one pass, throwing an interception.

Skyler Lehman had two receptions for seven yards.

Austin Clark rushed 14 times for 23 yards, while Branden Bartlett rushed one time for one yard. Kaleb Tessmer, Tim Jerabek, Tyler Petermann, and Jaden Doornink combined for -25 rushing yards.

Defensively, Hansen led the team with two solo tackles and five assisted tackles. Petermann had one solo tackle and two assisted tackles, while Jerabek had two assisted tackles and Cody Jarvis had one solo tackle.

The Truckers are scheduled to host their Homecoming football game at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4.
