Waupaca city, chamber sponsor electronics recycling event

Residents may drop off their unwanted electronics equipment from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 11-12, at the Kmart parking lot in Waupaca.

The electronics recycling event is sponsored by the city of Waupaca and the Waupaca Area Chamber of Commerce.

Computers, servers, laptops, gaming systems, speaker systems, office phones, PBXs, cell phones, tablets, PDAs, keyboards, mice, cords, printers, copiers, radios, treadmills, microwaves and stoves will be accepted at no charge.

There will be a charge of $5 each for proper disposal of computer monitors (CRTs only) and $10 each for televisions, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioning units, dehumidifiers and other freon appliances.

Waupaca Breakfast Rotary Club will also be collecting empty beverage cans to raise funds for Rotary Riverview Park.
