Shiocton defeats Indians

Shiocton picked up a Central Wisconsin 8 Conference volleyball win Sept. 26 by defeating Weyauwega-Fremont on the Indians’ home court.

The Chiefs took the first two games 25-17, 25-16; the Indians came back to take the third, 25-13; and Shiocton wrapped up the match with a 25-13 win in the fourth game.

“Shiocton put up some fantastic blocks on our front line,” coach Rena Tomaszewski said. “When we could split the blocks, we were guaranteed a kill. However, the Chiefs held each of the hitters to under 10 each.”

Jordan Krause had 12 digs and a pair of aces to go along with her 26 assists, while Morgan Wilson served up 13 points and added three block kills and eight kills.

The Indians competed at the Medford Invitational Sept. 28 and returned to CWC-8 play Oct. 1 at Amherst. W-F will head to the Wrightstown Invitational Saturday, Oct. 5, with games slated to get under way at 8:30 a.m.
