Pacelli netters sweep T-Birds
Stevens Point Pacelli picked up a Central Wisconsin 8 Conference volleyball win Oct. 1 by knocking off Iola-Scandinavia.
The Thunderbirds held leads late in the second and third games, but Pacelli came back in each one to earn the sweep, 25-20, 25-23, 26-24.
I-S built a 21-17 lead in the second game, only to see the Cardinals come back to prevent the T-Birds from tying up the match at a game apiece. The T-Birds also led 22-18 in the third game.
I-S hosted Wittenberg-Birnamwood Oct. 8 and will open CWC-8 pool play at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at a location to be determined. Pool play will continue Tuesday, Oct. 15, and the T-Birds will close out the regular season Thursday, Oct. 17, at home with the team’s annual Dig Pink match with Rosholt.
