Jerry W. Johnson, 43, Shawano, was charged with first-degree sexual assault of a child.
On Oct. 6, a 12-year-old girl told Clintonville police that Johnson had dragged her into the kitchen, removed her clothing, and touched her inappropriately.
She also accused him of taking her outside while she was undressed and hitting her with a stick.
According to the criminal complaint, Johnson told police that he did not remember touching the girl.
He was released from custody after posting a $2,000 cash bail.
Johnson is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Oct. 17.
