Free movie at Waupaca library

The Waupaca Area Public Library will present a free classic movie honoring veterans at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, in the downstairs meeting rooms.

The 1950 film, based on a true story, stars Claudette Colbert and Sessue Hayakawa and recounts the ordeal of an Illinois woman confined for more than three years in a Japanese prison camp during World War Two.

The screening is part of the First Thursday Film Series at the library and features an introduction by Dr. Jack Rhodes, as well as free popcorn, soft drinks, and theater treats. No reservations are required.
