Allen, Loretta

Loretta (Olk) Allen, age 84, of New London, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 23, 2013.

Loretta was born on December 11, 1928, in Hortonville to the late Bernard and Florence (Schwartz) Olk. Loretta married Gordon Allen, September 17, 1956, in Hortonville. Loretta was a bank teller and a shipping clerk before becoming a full-time wife and mother. She spent her time raising her children, playing bridge, spoiling her grandchildren and making the world’s best raspberry pies and chocolate chip cookies.

She is survived by her four children: three daughters, Maureen (Mark) Brackmann, Mercer Island, Washington and their daughters, Katherine and Kristen; Sue Allen, Green Bay; Jean (Mike) Denzel, New London and their daughters, Coleen and Beth; son; Patrick (Rebecca) Allen, Wausau: and their sons, Henry and Daniel; two sisters, Rosemary Kreul, Hortonville; Joan Dockter, Hortonville; sisters-in-law: June Olk, Hortonville; Barbara Olk, Hortonville; Elaine Dunn, Sun Prairie, Sarah Jane Allen, Appleton, and Alice Burton, New London; brothers-in-law: Fr. Richard Allen, Appleton; John (Jean) Allen, Janesville; and Don Frey, Ft. Myers, Florida. She is further survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Loretta is preceded in death by her loving husband Gordon Allen; parents Bernard and Florence Olk; in-laws Frank and Molly (Ahearn) Allen; sister Audrey Olk; two brothers, Charles Olk and Vincent Olk; brothers-in-law, Paul Kreul, Clifford Dockter, Kenny Allen, Robert Allen, Bernie Dunn, Jack LaFave, Gordon Burton, Marshal Shaw; sisters-in-law: Mary Catherine Shaw, Dorothy LaFave, and Loraine Frey.

The Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 712 S Pearl Street, New London. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Cline-Hanson Funeral Home, 209 W Cook Street in New London on Friday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Saturday at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
