Wayne N. Voelker, age 61, of Weyauwega, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, following an extraordinary battle with cancer.
He was born in New London, son of the late Norman and Eleanora (Hartfiel) Voelker. Wayne graduated from Weyauwega High School in 1970. He was united in marriage to Jane Riley on October 14, 1978 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Lanark. He loved old cars, hunting, camping and the outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in West Bloomfield.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jane; 5 children: Daniel Voelker, Weyauwega; Rhonda (Joseph) Golson, Menasha; Holly Wilber (fiancé Timothy Magdanz), Weyauwega; Brooke Sanneh, Oshkosh; Elly (Steven) Magdanz, Pine River; 12 grandchildren: Eden, Ashlynn, Kaitlyn and Brennen Voelker, Laurel and Clay Golson, Riley Wilber, Matty Sanneh, Bryce, Colby, Tate and Owen Magdanz; 2 sisters: Gloria Hoger, Weyauwega; Lois (Leland) Krause, Weyauwega; brother-in-law Paul Tessen, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin granddaughters Quinn and Avery Golson, a sister Delores Tessen, an infant brother George and a brother-in-law Darrell Hoger.
A funeral service for Wayne will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, West Bloomfield with Rev. William Meier officiating. Burial will be in Concordia Cemetery, West Bloomfield. A visitation for Wayne will be held on Friday, October 25, 2013, from 4-7 p.m. at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Weyauwega, and on Saturday at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
