Winter Farm Market opens Nov. 9

The downtown Waupaca Farm Market is over for the season, but fresh local food will now be available year round, with the advent of the new Winter Farm Market.

The market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every other Saturday until Jan. 1, and then once a month until spring, inside the Waupaca Recreation Center on School Street.

The first market will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9.

Subsequent markets will be held on Nov. 23 (including a craft sale), Dec. 7, Dec. 21, Jan. 11, Feb. 8, March 8 and April 12.

Winter storage produce like carrots, squash, onions, potatoes, beets, garlic and apples; preserves; grassfed meats and specialty items like freshly roasted coffee, locally produced sunflower oil, honey, maple syrup, seafood and bakery will all be available.

The market is sponsored by Waupaca’s Sustainable Community Initiative, with assistance from the city of Waupaca and the ACHIEVE group.
