Clinton, Idella “Del”

Idella “Del” Clinton, Amherst, Wisconsin, age 93, passed away on November 5 under hospice care at Iola Living Assistance in Iola, WI.

She was born July 27, 1920 in the Town of Lanark, Portage Co., WI; daughter of Michael and Helen (Somers) Loftis. Del married William “Bill” Clinton on November 10, 1940 in Milwaukee, WI and they shared 57 years of marriage before his passing on March 2, 1998. Del worked with her husband on their potato farm for many years, and was then a physical therapy assistant at Riverside Hospital in Waupaca. Del loved spending time with family and friends and treasured time camping and fishing with grandchildren.

Del is survived by her children: Tom (Chris) Clinton of Amherst, WI; Kathy (Bill) Martin of Tucson, AZ; Jerry (Lois) Clinton of Amherst, WI; Julious (Prudence) Caniza of Milwaukee, WI; Colleen (Jhan) Cowles of Eau Claire, WI; her daughter-in-law Barbara Clinton (Ray Wheeler) of Seattle, WA; grandchildren and great-grandchildren Amanda (Adam) Ward of Bainbridge, WA and their son, Andrew; Camille Clinton (Chad Raymond) of Redmond, WA and their children, Claire, Caitlin, & Cole; Rebecca Clinton (Tyler Pepple) of Portland, and their daughter, Madelyne; Tiffany (Steve) Erickson of Scandinavia, WI and their children, Ashley Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Meghan Erickson, & Payton Erickson; Tara (Bruce) Przybylski of Scandinavia, WI; Ty (Leigh) Clinton of Oconomowoc, WI and their children, Sophia, Ethan, Ava, & Olivia; Matthew (Melody) Clinton of Mequon, WI; Julie (John) Corey of Ann Arbor, MI and their children, Mary & Graham; Amy (Mike) Stewart of Centennial, CO and their son, Jack; Cassandra Clinton (Mike Vollert) of Stevens Point, WI; Crystal (Eric) Trzebiatowski of Amherst, WI and their children, Kole & Silvia; Nicolaus Caniza of West Lafayette, IN; Rachell Caniza of Madison, WI; Clint (Kellin) Cowles of Chicago, IL; Taylor Cowles of Eau Claire, WI; three great-great grandchildren, Jayson and Brooklyn Berrens, and Ryker Johnson; sisters Caroline Glennon of Munson, IN; Doris (Carl) Zimmerman of Milwaukee, WI, also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Del was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Helen Loftis; her husband, William “Bill” Clinton; a son, Richard “Dick” Clinton; 8 brothers, and 5 sisters.

A Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, November 16th at 11:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church in Amherst, WI. Father Robert Pedretti will preside. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church in Amherst. Burial will be at St. James Catholic Cemetery in Amherst following the mass on Saturday, with a lunch at St. James Church following burial. The Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences available at www.hollyfuneralhome.com. A memorial fund has been established for the Living Oaks Wish List to benefit Living Oaks, where Del enjoyed living for the last 3 years.
