Teressa Loraine Jones, King, formerly of Hortonville, age 80, passed away on Thursday Dec. 5th 2013, at the Veterans Home in King.
She was born to the late Arthur and Sadie (Weller) Doran, on Oct.14, 1933, in Germania, WI. Teressa grew up in the Royalton and Manawa area. After high school, Teressa went to the University of Stevens Point and received a BA Degree. After graduating she became a teacher and this became her lifelong passion. She was active teaching children into her 70’s. Teressa was a Christian and active member of the Hortonville Community Baptist Church. She also enjoyed sewing & baking and taking care of her family. On June 25th, 1960, she married Douglas D. Jones and they lived in Hortonville until moving to the King Veterans Home in 2012.
Teressa is survived by her husband of 53 years and three children: Thomas (AzMinda) Jones; Timothy (Michelle) Jones; and Sara (Robin) Kamke; grandchildren: Henry (Sara), Fr. David, Michael (Ferine), Louis, Emily, Andrew, Tera, Shawn and Rebecca. She is also survived by her sister Mary Lou (Sterling) Rudie; and Brothers Leonard (Mary) Doran and Andrew Doran; a sister-in-law Phyllis (Robert) Jones Heller; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Teressa’s family would like to extend a very special Thank You to the staff at King Veterans Home for the wonderful care provided. The funeral service for Teressa will be held on Monday, December 9, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home in Hortonville with Rev. Lary Long officiating. Burial will be in Royalton Cemetery, Town of Royalton. A visitation for Teressa will be held on Monday at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to Hortonville Community Baptist Church.
