Toys for Tots

Christmas was made a little brighter for more than 100 children in the Iola-Scandinavia area through Central Wisconsin Electric Co-op’s Toys for Tots program.

Each year the co-op partners with the U.S. Marine Corp Reserve and area businesses to help put smiles on area children’s faces on Christmas.

For the Iola-Scandinavia area, the CWEC works directly with the school and area churches to get a list of the children in need to deliver toys.

This year, the CWEC’s Toys For Tots program was able to make Christmas a little brighter for over 800 kids in its service area.

“A daunting task indeed and one we certainly couldn’t do without the help of friends,” said Mark Forseth of the co-op.

Area collection sites were Premier Community Bank, Iola-Scandinavia Community Fitness & Aquatic Center, I-S Elementary School, The Iola Tax Place, and Silver Lake Lanes.

Special appreciation goes to the Iola Leo’s, the I-S High School and I-S Middle School Student Councils, the employees at Grey Hill, the Iola Lions, Cathy Rocco, County Post West, and most importantly, to all who donated money and toys.
