The Pigeon Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District has contracted with Stantec Consulting Services of Stevens Point, to write a new Lake Management Plan.

The Pigeon Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District will host a public meeting at the Clintonville High School Auditorium at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, to update the public on the many issues Pigeon Lake is facing.

Stantec will present an outline of the new Lake Management Plan for Pigeon Lake. The outline includes what the plan will encompass and how the plan will be accomplished.

Included among the many topics of discussion are the following items:

• How current water levels, as well as current sediment issues, affect the Pigeon Lake Fishery;

• The ecological significance of Brady and Fairway Lake issues as they relate to Pigeon Lake; and

• Aquatic plant issues, both invasive and native, and plant management options.

The event will feature an open forum and the Pigeon Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District welcomes public opinion and involvement in their efforts to maintain and improve Pigeon Lake.
