Waupaca man charged with domestic abuse

Donald A. Vazquez, 46, Waupaca, was charged with battery, false imprisonment, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct as acts of domestic abuse.

At approximately 10 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, Waupaca County Sheriff’s Deputy James Santiago went to the Wheelhouse Restaurant in Waupaca to meet with a woman who had called 911. The woman said she had fled her home after an altercation with Vazquez.

According to the criminal complaint, the woman had gone to a health club after work. Vazquez allegedly began sending her text messages asking where she was because she was supposed to be home by 6 p.m.

After she arrived home, the woman began doing laundry in the basement, the complaint says.

Vazquez allegedly yelled at her, blocked her from going upstairs, then took her cellphone. When she went into the bedroom to pack a bag to leave, he forced open the bedroom door, hit her and pushed her to the floor, according to the criminal complaint.
