Tigers pounce on Truckers

The Ripon Tigers overwhelmed the Truckers in both the first and fourth quarter of their matchup on Saturday, Feb. 1, winning the game by a score of 55-38.

Clintonville trailed 7-16 after one quarter and 16-24 at halftime. By the end of the third quarter, Ripon led 35-26, and they outscored Clintonville 20-12 in the final frame.

Etta Sorenson led Clintonville with 11 points while Autumn Voight added seven. Ali Johnson scored six, Caitie Carpenter and Olivia Wagenson both chipped in five, Taylor Carpenter added two, and Jade Stilen and Danielle Kiefer both scored one point.

The Truckers had one assist, five steals and 16 turnovers. They committed 26 fouls. Ripon outrebounded Clintonville 18-8.

For the game, Clintonville made 12 of 29 shots (41 percent) and hit 2 of 16 shots from beyond the arc (12 percent). The team made 8 of 14 shots from the charity stripe.

The Truckers play at home on Friday, Feb. 7. Opening tip is set for 7:15 p.m.
