Clintonville man faces domestic abuse charges

Leonard J. Fields, 31, Clintonville, was charged with two counts each of battery and disorderly conduct as acts of domestic abuse.

On the morning of May 4, 2013, a clerk at the Clintonville Kwik Trip called police and reported an injured woman had come to the store seeking help.

Police met with the woman, who had a large welt above her eye.

According to the criminal complaint, the woman said Fields beat her up, punched her several times and kicked her in the face while she was on the floor. She was afraid and did not want Fields to know where she was.

He has been charged as a repeat offender due to prior convictions involving domestic violence.

On Nov. 30, 2010, Fields was convicted in Shawano County of felony stangulation, substantial battery and misdemeanor battery. He was placed on three years of probation and sentenced to one year in jail.
