Huglen, Eleanor June

Eleanor June Huglen, 93, of Iola passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 11th, 2014 at the Iola Nursing Home.

Eleanor was born in the town of New Hope, Portage County, Wisconsin on April 3, 1920. She was the daughter of the late William and Edna Marie (Peterson) Wrolstad. On January 17, 1942 she married Morgan Huglen in San Diego, California, who became her partner in life for 72 years. Eleanor was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She had a deep faith which she lovingly gifted to each of her children. She was a long standing member of the Peru Mission Circle, as was her mother and grandmother. She was also a member of the Esther Circle at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Iola. Eleanor was an accomplished Rosemaler and shared her art with many friends and family members. Always eager to spend time with her family, she was an avid Rook player, and enjoyed many wonderful years filled with laughter and love.

Eleanor is survived by her husband, Morgan Huglen of Iola, and 5 children; Diane Marquardt of Iola, Michael (Donna) Huglen of Tucson, AZ; Mark (Gayle) Huglen of Iola, Steven (Rita) Huglen of Norway, MI and Cynthia (Philip) Dellegrazio of Grafton, WI. She had 13 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving grandson, Michael Dellegrazio, her 3 brothers, Carlyle, Donald and Richard Wrolstad and 2 sisters, Harriet Leach and Doris Teel. She had many caring nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Iola, Wisconsin, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 15th, with Reverend Dennis Olson officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30-11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to South New Hope Church, P. O.
