Birthday Bash for Dr. Seuss

In celebration of Read Across America, award-winning singer and storyteller Stuart Stotts will be appearing in a concert at the Sturm Memorial Library in Manawa.

The show at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, promises to be a fun event for families of all ages. Come prepared to sing, laugh and maybe even dance.

The National Education Association’s Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on the birthday of beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss.

Stuart performs over 250 concerts a year for schools, conferences, festivals and community groups. He plays guitar, National Steel Guitar, rain stick and water drum. Stuart is an enchanting storyteller, with a repertoire of both folktales and personal stories. He is an expert at getting audiences involved through singing, movement and laughter.

Stuart is also the author of “World Citizen” and “Music in my Mother’s House”, as well as many other songs which are being performed by artists around the country. His songs have been recorded by such artists as Ronnie Gilbert, the Chenille Sisters, Tom Hunter, Tom Pease and many others.
