Wolves drop three more games

The Manawa Wolves boys’ basketball team once again played three games last week. And as they did the prior week, they once again lost all three games.

I-S 71, Manawa 49

The Wolves ended their week hosting Iola-Scandinavia. The Wolves were consistent on the scoreboard, scoring 12 points in three of the four quarters, and 13 points in the other quarter. Unfortunately Manawa’s defense gave up at least 17 points in each quarter.

I-S had its best quarter to open the game scoring 20 points. They managed 16 points in the second quarter to hold a 36-24 halftime lead.

Add in 17 points in the third quarter and 18 points in the fourth quarter, and I-S cruised to a 71-49 victory.

Shane Manthey led the Wolves with 13 points. Matt Radloff and Josh Mauritz chipped in with nine and seven points, respectively.

Pacelli 62, Manawa 22

Manawa traveled to Pacelli on Tuesday, Feb. 11 and were turned back with a 40 point loss. Radloff led the Wolves with seven points, while Manthey contributed five points.

W-F 73, Manawa 47

The Wolves were gracious hosts to Weyauwega-Fremont, Monday, Feb. 10.

A poor offensive first quarter set the stage for the game for the Wolves. They managed to score only six points and gave up 19 points. The Wolves almost doubled their scoring output in the second quarter, putting up 11 points. Defensively, the Wolves gave up 22 points in the quarter.

The Wolves were outscored by only two points in the second half but it was too little, too late. The Wolves lost the game 73-47.

David Blum led the Wolves with 12 points, while Adam Langman scored eight points. Manthey, Matt Radloff, Brandon Radloff, and Luke Wilz each scored six points.

The Wolves travel to Shiocton, Thursday, Feb. 20.
