Clauson, Michael

Michael “Mike” Clauson, age 63 years, of Clintonville died on Friday, February 21, 2014 from injuries sustained in a milk truck accident.

Michael Lee Clauson was born on May 24, 1950 in Clintonville to Arnold and Alice (Johnson) Clauson. He attended school in Bowler and then went to Clintonville High School. Mike entered the U.S. Army after school and served from 1968 to 1971. He was wounded in Vietnam and received the Purple Heart in August of 1970. Mike was united in marriage on December 18, 1971 to Collene S. Henrickson at the United Methodist Church, Clintonville. He was employed as a supervisor at Hillshire Farms in New London for close to 17 years. Then he drove milk truck for Larry Natzke of Bear Creek for some time. For the past 8 years, Mike hauled milk for Keith Olmsted and Sons Trucking, Bear Creek. He is a former member of the United Methodist Church, Clintonville. Mike was a Farmall tractor guy and he enjoyed taking care of his yard and washing his truck. He also collected miniature tractors and Pez dispensers of all sorts. Mike spoke to his mom on the phone almost every day and he always loved spending time with his large family.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Collene; two children, Lisa (David) Gretzinger of Sugar Bush and Mike (special friend Katie Laatsch) Clauson of Grand Chute, and his mother, Alice Lundt of Tigerton. There are 5 sisters and 4 brothers: Dorothy (Roger) Rasmussen of Leopolis, Ron (Bev) Clauson of Marshall, Jerry Clauson of Wittenberg, Dennis (Emmie) Clauson of Elderon, Patty (Kenny) Clapps of Ogdensburg, Ken (Linda) Clauson of Oshkosh, Dawn (Dale) Suehring of Tigerton, Lori Clauson of Janesville, and Sue (special friend Jerry) Clauson of Tigerton. There are 2 sisters-in-law, Marlene (Joe) McGlin of Shiocton and Kathy (Don) Hansen of Clintonville. He is further survived by a favorite brother-in-law whom he took care of, Eugene “Buck” Henrickson of Clintonville, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mike is preceded in death by his father, Arnold, a sister-in-law, Karen Clauson, and his father and mother-in-law, Harold and Ruby Henrickson.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 26th at 3:00 p.m. at the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville, with Rev. Keith Wolf officiating. Military Honors will be provided by members of the American Legion Post #63 and the VFW Post #664, both of Clintonville.
