Hartfiel, Ruby Mary (Frebel)

Ruby Mary (Frebel) Hartfiel, age 94, of Weyauwega, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Bethany Home in Waupaca.

She was born on June 4, 1919, in East Bloomfield, daughter of the late Leopold and Elda (Young) Frebel. On August 11, 1941, she was united in marriage to Herman Hartfiel at St. John’s Lutheran Church in East Bloomfield. He preceded her in death. She was actively involved in Hartfiel Dairy Farms in Lind Center. Ruby was a member of St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church where she was very active in their Ladies Aid. She was a member of the Lind Center Sewing Club and the Homemakers. She loved her grandchildren and also enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening.

She is survived by her sons: David (Janet) Hartfiel, Weyauwega; Tom (Mary Jo) Hartfiel, Hudson; twelve grandchildren: Brenda Hering, Barbara (Dennis) Hanson, John (Susann) Hartfiel, Jeff Hartfiel, Greg (Jill) Schuelke, Tim (Jenny) Schuelke, Lisa (Brian) Larsen, Sarah (Nick) Grosskreutz, Nathan (Klara) Hartfiel, Eric (Laura) Hartfiel, Allison (Brad) Casey, and Lindsay Hartfiel. Also surviving are 20 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law: Lola Hartfiel, Lillian Wendt and Emma Hartfiel, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son Daniel (Jacqulyn), daughter Joan (David) Schuelke, a sister Clara Luedke and an infant sister Elfreda Frebel.

The Christian Funeral for Ruby will be held Thursday February 27, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, Weyauwega with Rev. Newlin Schafer and Rev. Dennis Lemke officiating. The visitation for Ruby will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery Weyauwega in the spring.
