William G. Shanklin, age 81 of Scandinavia, WI passed away on Thursday February 27, 2014.
William was born on February 1, 1933, the son of George and Miney (Mitcheltree) Shanklin. William married his first wife, the late Nancy Ward on November 27, 1957 and his second wife, Debra Armes on August 8, 2008.
William is survived by his wife Debra Shanklin of Scandinavia, WI; his daughter Jaimy Shanklin of Nelsonville, WI; two granddaughters, Anji and Ashlie Polski of Nelsonville, WI; stepdaughter Shelly (Todd) Tennyson of Waukesha, WI; stepson Tom Dziamarski (Jen Trivillion) of Mukwonago, WI; stepgranddaughter Caitlin Trivillion of Mukwonago, WI; sister Dorothy Rusch of Plover, WI; sister-in-law Ruby Shanklin of Amherst, WI; four stepsisters: Ruby, Bea, Janet and Carol; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, two best friends, Bob Gaetz and Ed Hebawote, one special cousin Bunky Allen and many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. William is preceded in death by his parents, George and Miney Shanklin; his first wife Nancy Shanklin, brother Gay Shanklin and stepsister Lois.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 8, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Peace Lutheran Church in Amherst. Pastor Gretchen Anderson will officiate. A visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Burial of cremains will be held in the spring at the Greenwood Cemetery.
