Bus Driver Appreciation Week

Students and staff at Manawa Elementary School, along with the Manawa Elementary PTO, honored district bus drivers.

During Bus Driver Appreciation Week, Feb. 10, district bus drivers received little surprises each day and handwritten thank you notes. These dedicated drivers safely bring students to and from school every day no matter what the weather.

When students were asked what is important to be a good bus driver, this is what a few had to say.

First graders said: “A bus driver takes you to school even in bad weather,” Lily K. said.

“A bus driver needs to get kids to school on time,” Brooke K. said.

“Bus drivers need to make sure they take you to the right school,” Jack S. said.

Third graders said: “Bus drivers need to concentrate,” Mara T. said.

“They need to keep everyone safe,” Cameron P. said.

“They have to keep the kids seated while driving,” Andrea H. said.

“Bus drivers need to care for the riders,” Lillianna R. said.

Fifth graders said:

“Bus drivers need to stay focused,” Bobby Z. said.

“Bus drivers need to have lots of patience,” Mackenzie R. said.
