Weyauwega-Fremont and Waupaca’s track teams competed April 12 at the Little Chute Invitational and each team returned home with an individual champion.
Weyauwega-Fremont’s Caragan Volz won the girls’ 400-meter dash in 1:07.66, while Waupaca’s Tatiana Sotka won the girls’ 100-meter dash in 13.14.
The Waupaca girls and boys placed sixth and eighth, respectively, while the W-F girls and boys took seventh and 10th.
Also placing for W-F were Volz, second, girls’ triple jump; Mikaela Hintz, second, girls’ discus, and fifth, 400; Becky Schroeder, fourth, high jump; Gwennette Koch, tied for fifth, girls’ shot put; and Logan Erdmann, fifth, boys’ shot put.
Also placing for Waupaca were Macie Davidson, tied for second, girls’ high jump; Leah Piotter and Victoria Nowak, tied for fifth, girls’ high jump; Michelle Petkovsek, fifth, girls’ 1,600-meter run; Jake Hobson, fifth, boys’ discus; Zach Thorne, sixth, boys’ discus; and the boys’ 800-meter relay team of Nic Joch, Jake Schlender, Steven Canterbury and Brogan Kendziora, fourth.
