Delores J. Barnick, age 81 of Oshkosh, formerly of the Township of Dupont, Waupaca County, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center, Oshkosh.
Delores was born on December 18, 1932 in the Township of Morris, Shawano County, the daughter of the late Walter and Emma (Buck) Mortensen. She was raised near Iola where she also graduated from High School. She was united in marriage to Arthur Barnick on July 5, 1952 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Big Falls. The couple lived and farmed in the Township of Dupont all of their married life. Arthur preceded his wife in death on November 19, 1982 after 30 years of marriage. Delores continued to farm in the Township of Dupont until retirement in 1999 and later moved to Oshkosh where she has lived since. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Township of Dupont, where she served with their Ladies Aid. Delores was a very hardworking and loving mother who enjoyed gardening, sewing, and reading.
Survivors include: her daughters: Kathy (Steven) Lehman, Oshkosh; Donna (Michael) Fuller, Winneconne; Sandy Barnick, Sheboygan; her sons: Alan (Marie) Barnick, Shawano; David Barnick and Christine, Marion; Jim Barnick, Marion; Roger (Jennifer) Barnick, Clintonville; her grandchildren: Craig (Emily) Lehman, Darryl Lehman and Angela, Oshkosh; Jeff (Sarah) Lehman, Winneconne; Kelly Barnick, Gresham; Cory Barnick, Marion; Adam (Chelsea) Barnick, Oconto; Martha Fuller, Oshkosh; Kristin (William IV) Richardson, Alison Barnick, Milwaukee; Nicholas and Jacob Barnick, Clintonville. Also, her great-grandchildren: Connor and Noah Barnick, Mason and Morgan Lehman, Danielle Lehman, Ava and Chloe Barnick; her sisters: Arlene (Eugene) Luedtke, Pine River; Carol (Larry) Gable, Poy Sippi; Ruth (John) Pettit, Oshkosh; her brothers: Robert (Donna) Mortensen, Oshkosh; Mark (Peggy) Mortensen, Berlin; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Ruby B. Niemuth, Marion; Leo Barnick, Marion and Rev. Armin (Carol) Barnick, Ohio; and, numerous nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arthur, her son Brian in 1988, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Cora and Marv Fietzer, Leonard Barnick, Kenneth Niemuth, Herb and Charlotte Barnick.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Township of Dupont, Waupaca County with the Rev. Janice Kuder officiating. Interment will be in the Roseland Cemetery, Township of Dupont, Waupaca County. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
