Gary L. Ort, 57, Fremont, returned to court April 15 on charges of harassment, violating a restraining order and felony bail jumping.
In January, Ort was charged with felony stalking and five counts of violating a restraining order. He was released on a $1,000 cash bond with the condition that he have no contact with his ex-wife.
On March 31, Ort’s ex-wife told Sgt. Casey Fields, with the New London Police Department, that she had received several calls from a restricted number. She had not answered the phone and no message was left.
She then received a call from a Green Bay number. When she answered it, she heard what sounded like Ort’s voice, so she hung up immediately.
Field called the Green Bay number, and it was answered by a hotel employee, who informed Casey that Ort had been staying there the night Ort’s ex-wife received the call.
Ort was released from custody on a $5,000 signature bond with the same conditions in his last bond.
