Waupaca man faces domestic abuse charges

Jacob R. Kearney, 27, Waupaca, was charged with felony strangulation, misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct as acts of domestic abuse.

At 12:38 a.m. Monday, April 21, Waupaca Police Officer Jeremy Mulroy was dispatched to an apartment on North Street in response to a report of domestic violence.

The officer met with Kearney’s girlfriend, who accused Kearney of attacking her during an argument.

She said she told Kearney she wanted him to stop drinking. He allegedly became angry and pushed her against the wall, threatening to kill her. He then placed both his hands around her neck and strangled her, according to the criminal complaint.
