Evelyn R. Anthes, age 90, of Waupaca, WI, passed away on Monday, May 12th, 2014 at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca.
She was born in Oshkosh, WI, on October 30, 1923, a daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Diehl) Troxell. Evelyn married Ernest M. Anthes. He preceded her in death on July 21, 2003. Evelyn was a member of the Meat Cutters Union, prior to her retirement she worked as a meat wrapper at Red Owl and Ron & Lloyds in Waupaca. She enjoyed crocheting, cross word puzzles and growing flowers.
Survivors include her children: Judith (John) Stuebs, New Port Richey, FL; Barbara Jenson, Waupaca, WI; Janet (Richard) Lyle, Brookfield, WI; Ernest (Cindy) Anthes, Plover, WI; Tony Anthes, Appleton, WI; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Belvia Faust, Oshkosh, WI. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ernest and her son-in-law, Gene Jenson.
Funeral Services will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 15th, 2014, with Rev. Dr. Charles Tews officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Oshkosh. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Autistic Foundation.
