Kelley, Loren W.

Loren W. Kelley, age 78, formerly of Waupaca, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 in Mesa, AZ.

He was born on October 22, 1935, in Hancock, to George and Maybelle (Coggin) Kelley. He was united in marriage to Fay Frederick on October 21, 1995. He owned and operated Kelley’s Barber Shop on Fulton Street in Waupaca for over 30 years. He loved life, golfing, bowling, gardening, playing horseshoes, dancing with Fay and their friends, and fishing with his grandchildren. He had many friends and always a greeting and friendly smile for everyone. Loren was in the United States Air Force and served his country faithfully during the Korean Conflict. He was a member and past Master of Waupaca Masonic Lodge #123 and a member of United Church of Christ in Hancock.

He is survived by his wife Fay; six children: Paul Kelley, Fitchburg; Linda Kelley, Appleton; Leanne (Paul) Schmitt, Tucson, AZ; John (Gretchen) Kelley, Waupaca; Jim Kelley, Seattle, WA; Tom Kelley, Coon Rapids, MN and stepson Kurt Bartram, Mesa, AZ. His pride and joy were his eleven grandchildren: Tom and Laura Kelley; Sam and Jacob Schmitt; Elizabeth, Hannah and Emma Kelley; Bryce, Mya, Anna and Emily Kelley. He is further survived by his niece Diane (Craig) Kaiser, Colgate; great-nieces, Maggie and Erin Kaiser; and three step grandchildren: Amy, Brandie (Tyler) Lucht and Dustin Bartram. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Georgia, brother-in-law Elmer Zernia, niece Christine Zernia and stepson Ricky Bartram.

A private family service will be held at a later date with burial in the Hancock Cemetery.
