Earl “Jerry” E. Kent, age 93 of New London, died at Trinity Terrace in New London on Saturday morning, May 31, 2014.
He was born on April 14, 1921, Town of Mukwa, son of the late Elmer and Meta (Ziebell) Kent. On May 12, 1945, he was united in marriage to Bernice Koplien. She preceded him in death in 1998. Jerry worked at Borden’s (Saputo Cheese), New London for 38 years; retiring in 1983.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Siebert, Maryville, MO; sons: Gerald (Kathy) Kent, Virginia Beach, VA; Roger (Terry) Kent, Cockeysville, MD; and Alan (Kate) Kent, Milwaukee; sisters, Alice Lathrop, New London and Doris (Bob) Frank Oshkosh. Jerry is further survived by eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother David and a sister Beatrice Dorow.
A funeral service for Jerry will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London.
