Orr, Dan

I did not expect to leave so soon; but The Lord had his plan. I left you all with love and Peace in my heart. 

Dan was born on Jan 13, 1930, the son of the late Thomas (Tim) Orr and Clara (Anderson) Orr. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran church in Waupaca. On Nov 19, 1949 he married his best friend Ramona Gordon at Immanual Lutheran Church, they enjoyed 63 years of marriage together. They lived on the family farm, where they farmed and Dan was a feeder pig dealer. Dan and his uncle Loyal Anderson started the feeder pig business in Waupaca County, he continued his business for over 50 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. A friend to many and a story teller at heart. After he retired he enjoyed driving to inspect the crops and going to the truck stop having coffee and talking to all his retired friends. They wintered for over 30 years in Apache Jct. AZ. by their daughter Kris and her family. 

He is preceded in death by his wife Ramona and survived by his children: Tim (Janet), Mike (Phyllis), Kris (Dan) Laux, Dennis (Lisa), Jim (Nancy); 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and his sisters, Helen Stevens and Jean Abrahamson along with many nieces and nephews. 

The Funeral Service will be Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1120 Evans Rd., with Rev. Loren Fritz officiating. The visitation will be on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. The Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
