Wayne M. Knutson, age 57, of Waupaca, WI passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at his residence following a valiant struggle with cancer. 

Wayne was born in Iola, WI on February 9, 1957, the son of the late Mervil and Joan “Babe” (Siemering) Knutson. Wayne served his country in the US Air Force from 1977 until retiring in 1997 after 20 years of service. On October 6, 1984, he married Pamela Kay in Oscoda, MI. He has served as the Waupaca County Veterans Service Officer from Jan. 1, 2012 until the present time. He is a member of the VFW Post # 1037 of Waupaca, American Legion, Toastmasters and a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He loved boating, fishing, hiking and especially driving his corvette. 

Wayne is survived by: his wife, Pam Knutson, Waupaca; his daughters, Ashley (Jason) Borden, Neligh, Nebraska and Nicole Knutson, Waupaca; his brother, Michael (Cheryl) Knutson, Berlin, WI and his brother-in-law, Allen Jensen, Rice Lake, WI. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Merv and Babe and his sister, Linda Jensen. 

The Funeral Service with Military rites was held on Saturday, July 5 at 1 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca with Reverend Andy Behrendt, officiating. Burial is in the Lakeside Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation was on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church. Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca assisted the family with arrangements.
