Lego robots at local libraries

Robots are coming to the Iola and Scandinavia libraries.

As part of their Fizz, Boom, Read! summer programming, the Iola and Scandinavia libraries are teaming up with the University of Wisconsin Extension Office to present NXT Robotics.

Children ages 10 and up will work in groups to build Lego Mindstorm NXT robots.

After each robot is complete, they will use a computer to program their robot to move, spin, grab, talk and complete tasks.

This is a hands-on activity for anyone interested in robots, computers and programming.

NXT Robotics will take place at the Iola Village Library from 1-3 p.m. Monday, July 28, and again at the Scandinavia Public Library from 2-5 p.m. Tuesday, July 29.

Space is limited, and the libraries encourage anyone interested in participating to register ahead of time.

The Iola Village Library is located at 180 S. Main St., Iola. For more information, call 715-445-4330 or visit www.iolalibrary.org.
