Assessing Scott Walker?s term as governor

I am directing this letter to the voters who cast their ballots for Governor Scott Walker two years ago. They didn’t feel a recall election was right, because properly elected officials should be given the opportunity to serve their entire term.

This is a powerful argument and I’m sure there are some recall supporters who have second thoughts about the damage the process did to Wisconsin.

But now, Walker’s full term is almost completed and his recall supporters need to judge his accomplishments.

I am not a life-time Wisconsinite, so I can only speak for the 15 years my wife and I have lived here. The excellent business climate. strong schools. natural beauty and friendly communities that brought us to Wisconsin have been replaced by a state last in the Midwest in job growth, with underfunded schools and low teacher morale, with pristine land waiting for mining, and citizens unable to have civil conversations. All this as a result of the 2010 election.

Just look around and decide for yourself how Wisconsin has been affected by four years of Scott Walker. Do you have friends or relatives suffering from his policies? I know I have. I urge you to do your part and start Wisconsin on the road back to recovery by electing Mary Burke in November.
