June Melby will speak about the history of miniature golf at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, at the Holly History Center, 321 S. Main St., Waupaca.
Melby is the author of “My Family and Other Hazards,” a memoir of her experience growing up on the Chain O’ Lakes where her family owned Tom Thumb Miniature Golf from 1973 to 2003.
Sponsored by the Waupaca Historical Society, Melby’s program is free and open to the public.
Copies of her book will be available for purchase after the program for $25 with 20 percent of the proceeds going to the Waupaca Historical Society. The author will gladly sign all copies of the book purchased that evening. Cookies and refreshments will be served.
