Karen entered the world on January 25, 1962. She was born and raised in Neenah, WI. During her childhood she attended St. Margaret Mary’s and Neenah High School. On September 3, 1988, she married the love of her life, Keith. Together they raised three beautiful daughters, Lizzie, Sara, and Jodi. Karen was blessed with two grandsons, Hunter and Evan. Karen touched many people with her inspiring faith and beautiful soul. She had the biggest heart and always enjoyed helping others. Karen smiled the brightest while spending time with her grandchildren. She loved kayaking, fishing, cross-country skiing, playing tennis and cribbage, biking and going for walks. Karen was a gifted guitar player, a talented singer/song-writer, and a leader in her church music ministry.Karen fought a long and courageous fight with Pancreatic Cancer for 3 years and 8 months. She fought hard and strong and beat the statistics. Her uplifting attitude and trust in the Lord inspired so many. Although Karen is gone, her memory will live on through those who loved her.
Karen is survived by: her husband, Keith LeComte; her three daughters, Elizabeth LeComte, Sara Ortner, and Jodi LeComte; her grandsons, Hunter Ortner and Evan Milhaupt; her siblings, Lynn (Tony) Schuette, Pat (Don) Schlack, Dave (Carla) Hartman, and John Hartman; her mother and father in-law, John and Donna LeComte, and her brothers and sisters in-law: John LeComte, Randy LeComte, Patti (Andy) Lenz, Karen Prellwitz, and Mary (Karl) Linzmeyer; and many nieces and nephews.Karen is preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth (Betty) Hartman, and Clarence (Bud) Hartman.
A memorial service will be held for Karen on Monday, August 11, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church (1513 Pinewood Ln, New London, WI) with Fr. Paul Feider officiating.
