?Divide and conquer? in Wisconsin

Maybe many Wisconsinites still think Gov. Scott Walker is doing a good job because his proclaimed “divide and conquer” strategy has worked on them.

The ready-made legislation he and the Republican-controlled legislature have been pushing through pits public vs. private sector workers, unionized workers against non-unionized workers, the employed vs. the unemployed, teachers against taxpayers.

If that doesn’t work, they also try to disenfranchise those who do not, for whatever reason, have photo IDs. And they separate out those with alternative life choices and say, you don’t get the same rights as the rest of us.

“Divide and conquer” may be an effective way to run a war, but it’s a terrible way to run a state. There’s a great shortage of tolerance and understanding in this agenda. And when those in charge of our government lack tolerance and understanding of any portion of their constituency, they need to be voted out by all of us.
