Comparing Walker?s economic results with Doyle?s

There are healthy comparisons between Governor Scott Walker’s results and the Doyle/Burke administration. These comparisons show that Wisconsin is on the right track under Walker.

• 96 percent of Wisconsin employers agree that Wisconsin is going in the right direction economically under Walker, whereas only 10 percent felt this way under Doyle/Burke. Walker has invested in our technical colleges and workforce development programs to equip Wisconsinites with the tools necessary to be successful in today’s economy.

• Unemployment compensation is at its lowest since 2008, and spiked over the national average under Doyle/Burke.

• Over 100,000 jobs, and 23,000 new businesses under Walker vs. 133,000 jobs and 27,000 business lost under Doyle/Burke. Walker has been criticized that the new jobs include non-profits. Are non-profits bad? They still must pay heat, light, power, and rent/mortgages. They do have payroll and payroll taxes to pay, and the paid employees do pay for food clothing and shelter for themselves. All of this money spent by them goes to strengthen Wisconsin’s economy.

• Under Walker’s first three years as governor, Wisconsin ranked 22nd in job creation, and correspondingly 42nd under Doyle/Burke.

• Under Walker, Wisconsin ranks fifth in the U.S. for new manufacturing jobs this year, having lost 2,800 manufacturing jobs under Doyle/Burke.

• Wisconsin has created nearly double the number of jobs under Walker than it did while Burke was Commerce Secretary.  Every year that she worked under Doyle, job growth rate was lower than any year under Walker.

• Walker has provided over $2 billion in tax relief for middle-class families through property tax and income tax cuts.

• This year, Wisconsin ranks No. 1 in the Midwest for personal income growth.

• Walker has increased public education funding by $380 million, has secured a statewide expansion of school choice, and has implemented a U/W system tuition freeze for the first time ever.

These statistics and facts surely do not endorse Mary Burke as Wisconsin’s next governor. Keep Wisconsin going forward, and re-elect Governor Scott Walker.
