Weyauwega-Fremont played Amherst Oct. 14 in the finals of the Central Wisconsin 8 Conference pool play tournament.
The Indians went into the tournament, which started Oct. 11, with a 7-0 mark in CWC-8 dual matches and kept their streak going with pool play wins over Manawa (25-12, 25-6), Iola-Scandinavia (25-13, 25-18) and Stevens Point Pacelli (27-25, 25-18).
Team leaders on the day included Jordan Krause (55 assists, five aces, five assists); Courtney Gorges (24 service points, 27 digs, five aces); Megan Young (21 kills); and Karissa Akey and Becky Schroeder (17 kills).
W-F also wrapped up dual match play Oct. 7 by sweeping Manawa 25-28, 25-10, 25-15.
Team leaders included Krause (24 assists, six digs); Akey (five aces, six digs); Young (10 service points, eight digs, nine kills); Schroeder (eight kills); Hannah Sroka (seven digs); and Gorges (six digs).
“We had a great crowd for Parents Night and everyone on the team contributed to the win,” coach Rena Tomaszewski said.
