?The Haunted Mill’ in Iola

Iola-Scandinavia High School juniors will celebrate Halloween with “The Haunted Mill” for two weekends, Oct. 24-25 and Oct. 30-Nov. 1.

A cast of 30 ghosts and goblins, zombies and ghouls will be waiting to scare visitors at the Mill at 300 N. Main St. in Iola.

Each night, “The Haunted Mill” will offer a less frightening experience for children ages 12 and younger from 5-7 p.m. and a more terrifying, scream-filled experience for ages 13 and older from 7-9 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased at the door. Admission will be $5 for children 12 and under and $7 adults. Visitors may bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the food pantry and receive $1 off their admission costs.

Trick or treat will take place in Iola from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, followed by special program for children from 4-6 p.m. at the Mill.

On Friday, Oct. 31, the Iola-Scandinavia Chamber of Commerce will host a zombie movie at 5 p.m. at the Iola Historical Society Complex, 205 Depot St. The movie will be followed by a Zombie Walk along the River Walk to “The Haunted Mill.” At 7 p.m., the chamber will show a G-rated film for younger children to see after they visit “The Haunted Mill.”
