Seymour runs past New London

A strong running game propelled the Seymour Thunder to a 43-8 win over the New London Bulldogs on Friday, Oct. 17.

The trouble started early for New London, as the Bulldogs fumbled the ball on their own 42-yard line with 8:19 left in the first quarter. Seymour took over, and ran for a touchdown at the 6:32 mark to take a 7-0 lead.

The second quarter saw the Thunder score almost immediately on a rushing play with 11:38 left in the quarter. The extra point kick was good, and Seymour led 14-0.

Seymour added a passing touchdown at the 7:35 mark, but the extra point kick failed, giving them a 20-0 lead.

The Bulldog offense tried to get on track, but two interceptions in the second quarter thwarted the offense’s efforts.

Seymour ran for another touchdown with 3:32 left in the quarter and kicked the extra point for a 27-0 lead.

New London nearly scored at the end of the quarter when Zach Duenas caught the ball near the goal line, but he fumbled the ball as he was being tackled and Seymour took over on their own one-yard line.

New London got on the board in the second half, but Seymour added 16 points to run away with a 43-8 win.
