Mustangs buck Truckers

The Trucker varsity volleyball team suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the Little Chute Mustangs on Thursday, Oct. 16.

Little Chute won game one by a score of 25-14 and then eked out a 26-25 win in game two.

Facing a do-or-die third game, the Truckers dug deep and earned a 25-14 win.

Though a glimmer of hope was found in game three, it was snuffed out by the Mustangs when they won game four by a score of 25-15.

Abby Krueger had 17 assists for the Truckers, while Catherine Morse tallied 12 assists and two kills. Chrissy Betz added eight kills and two digs, while Autumn Voigt scored seven kills and four blocks. Caitie Carpenter added four kills and two digs.

The Truckers now hold a 9-20 overall record and a 2-6 record in Eastern Valley Conference play.

The Truckers faced Shawano on Tuesday, Oct. 21. The winner of that game advances to play top-seeded Green Bay Notre Dame in Green Bay at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23.
