Hortonville man honored by Easter Seals

Keith Posselt of Hortonville received the Outstanding Volunteer Award from Easter Seals Wisconsin, on Tuesday, Oct. 14.

Individuals, groups and businesses were honored as 2014 Easter Seals Wisconsin “Difference-Makers” at a special recognition dinner in Madison.

“Difference Makers” like Posselt have inspired others and made outstanding contributions to the disability community statewide.

Posselt, a livestock farmer, has spent the last seventeen years dedicating himself to giving back to an organization that assisted him in returning to farming after sustaining a spinal cord injury in an accident.

According to Kim Boyer of Easter Seals Wisconsin, “Keith’s dedication to the organization has not only raised funds through the Calf Project to support Easter Seals FARM program, but encouraged other farmers who have experienced an accident or chronic illness to contact FARM so that they can remain in agriculture.”

In addition to the Calf Project, Posselt takes part in the Human Race each year in Appleton, raising money that provides disability-related equipment to families in the Fox Valley through the Easter Seals Disability HelpLine of Outagamie County.
