Cullen recognized for service to W-F

The Wisconsin Athletic Director’s Association recently honored Tom Cullen for his years of service to the Weyauwega-Fremont School District and his commitment to excellence in athletics.

He recently received the award from W-F athletic director Jeff Fahser.

“The Weyauwega-Fremont School District is very fortunate to have people like Tom Cullen,” Fahser said. “Tom continually gives of his time at Weyauwega-Fremont. He has volunteered his services as a referee at youth basketball tournaments and has been called out in emergency situations to fix a scoreboard issue.”

“Tom, along with his brother Tim, were instrumental in getting the donated football scoreboard from the Green Bay Packers practice facility that has been in use on the varsity football field at Weyauwega-Fremont for the past few years,” he said. “You will often see him attending athletic contests at Weyauwega-Fremont, as well as playing morning basketball to help the student-athletes at Weyauwega-Fremont. Besides all of this, Tom serves as chief of the Weyauwega-Fremont Fire Department. These are just a few of the accomplishments of a very talented man in our district.”

Cullen coached the varsity softball team and has volunteered his services as an announcer at W-F volleyball, basketball and football contests for well over a decade.

“The next time you see Tom at a Weyauwega-Fremont event, be sure to thank him for his countless hours of serving our district,” Fahser said.
