New London handed Waupaca a 73-57 loss Dec. 5 in nonconference boys’ basketball action.
The Bulldogs hit their first four three-point attempts and outscored Waupaca 21-17 in the first quarter. The Bulldogs led 38-28 at halftime and 53-45 after three quarters. The Comets cut the lead to eight points twice late in the third quarter, but couldn’t get any closer.
The Bulldogs closed out the game with a 20-12 advantage over the final eight minutes.
Nick Thomas and Sam Porath led the Bulldogs with 22 and 14 points, respectively, while Brando Vasquez had 22 for Waupaca. Tony Blackwell and Turner Kelly also finished in double figures for the Comets with 15 and 10 points, respectively.
