Santa comes to Manawa

Santa Claus came to town on a horse-drawn wagon on Sunday, Dec. 7.

Santa and his helpers, Tammy and Cassie Arndt, visited with over 100 children at the Lindsay House Bed & Breakfast.

Santa and the children posed for pictures taken by Angie Meidam and Caroline Simon, whilst Mat Simon and Melessa Miller assisted with collecting the donations for the Manawa Area Community Food Pantry.

Midwestern Rodeo Queen Lexus King and Connie Klotzbuecher assisted Santa’s visitors on and off the wagon for a scenic ride through Manawa.

The horse-drawn wagon was provided by Jim Auer of New London, who was assisted by Bill Clegge.

Cups of hot cocoa and an array of homemade cookies were served at the Lindsay House, compliments of Melessa Miller, Ashley Hass, Tammy Arndt and Judy Trull.

Mark and Kristina Spielbauer, friends from the Hobart area, have joined in the fun the last few years helping wherever needed.

“We would like to extend appreciation to our community partners for their thoughtful gifts that encourage that such a wonderful event can continue,” said Tim and Judy Trull, owners of the Lindsay House Bed & Breakfast.

Besides the Trulls, sponsors of the event included Heimbruch Septic, Lindsay Machinery, First State Bank, Premier Community Bank, Brenda VanderZanden, Judy Deschler, Ellen Connor, Tanya Wadzinski, Eastling Insurance, Total Harmony Biofeedback and Massage, Carbon Freckle and Becky Seehaver.
