Early Wednesday, morning, December 17, 2014, the world lost a grand woman. Charlotte Louise (nee Witzke) Hass, age 82, lost her battle with cancer.

She was born in the Town of Bear Creek, (Waupaca County,) on October 10, 1932, the fifth of seven daughters born to Carl and Rosetta (Winter) Witzke. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville. Charlotte received her education at Elm Dale School, St. Martin Lutheran School and Clintonville High School graduating with the class of 1950. On a blind date, Charlotte met Albert Junior Hass, and on June 13, 1953 they were wed at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville. They made their home on the family farm located in the Town of Little Wolf. Charlotte lived an ordinary life, being a homemaker and working alongside her husband, it was a joy working on the farm which earned her the 1999 Waupaca County Farm Woman of the Year award and Waupaca County Conservation Farmer of the Year. Charlotte always had a large vegetable garden and loved her flowers. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Manawa and a past member of the Springbrook Advancement Club. Together Albert and Charlotte traveled throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. She participated in many National Bowling Tournaments.

Seven children filled her life along with 22 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Until we are reunited in heaven, Charlotte will be greatly missed by her husband, Albert and their children: Joan (Jerry) Bailey, Barbara (Gerald) Lowney, Sandy (Al) Kriesel, Sharon (Will) Baldwin, Glenn (Kim), Mark (Deb), Rodney (Lori) Hass all of Manawa. Grandchildren: Scott (Robyn), Joe (Bridget), Jason (Sheri), and Jeremy Bailey, Lori (Todd) Mattes, Michelle (Jay) Johnson, Clayton Lowney, Christon (Joshua) Baitinger, Casey (Nick) Heise, Lucas (Mandy) Kriesel, Lindsey (Hugh), Leasum, Hannah (Dan) Stroesenreuther, Matthew (Christie Buskirk), Brianne (Matthew Trantow) Baldwin, Courtney (Ryan) Smits, Mike (Ashlee), Dan, Whitney (Dylan Christian), Tyler, Anthony (Danielle), Logan and Ethan Hass. Great-grandchildren: Bailey, Claire, Sydney, Gibson, Dawson, Connor, Avery, Cheyenne, Marlee, Zhenya, Karsyn, Kamrey, Evan, Taylin, Nolan, Lexie, Mason, Landon, Hugh, Ellie, Oden and Baby Leasum. She is further survived by her sisters, Renata Buchholz, Carol (Ervin) Brede and sister-in-law, Dorothy Hass. In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her sisters: Arlene, Cora, (Ralph) Anderson, Evelyn (Hunky) Bodoh, Jeanette (Russell) Haven, in-laws: Howard Buchholz, Lillie (Victor) Erdman, Alfred (Adeline) Hass, Agnes (Robert) Schuelke, Alvin and Louie Hass and great-grandson Brady Albert Bailey.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Manawa with Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating. Burial will be in the Little Wolf Cemetery, Town of Little Wolf. Visitation will be held at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home, Manawa on Friday from 4-7 p.m. and also at the church on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Arc Angels Staff, Oncology Department at Appleton Medical Center, ThedaCare at Home Hospice, Dr. Phillips, Dr. Goedderz, and Pastor Mazemke for all their care and concern for Charlotte.
