W-F wrestlers have tough week

It wasn’t exactly the best week for the Weyauwega-Fremont wrestling team.

Not only did the Indians fall to Wittenberg-Birnamwood 57-6 Dec. 11, they also dropped all four matches two days later at the Akey Duals.

The Indians fell to Chilton/Hilbert 44-21, Stratford 71-6 and Ripon 42-35 before falling to Waupaca 42-30 in the final round.

Oliver Radtke and Andy Bork placed first at 145 and 285 pounds, respectively, with 4-0 records.

“The two seniors have been rock solid so far this season, leading the team with identical 8-1 records,” coach Tim Potratz said.

The five coaches also named Bork as the tournament’s most outstanding wrestler.

Two other W-F wrestlers, Kyle Loehrke (182) and Dylen Kicherer (220) placed second.

Stratford won the meet for the third year in a row with a 4-0 mark, followed by Chilton/Hilbert (3-1), Ripon (2-2) and Waupaca (1-3).
