Huven, James W.

James W. Huven of Waupaca, age 78, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Bethany Home with his family. 

He was born in Appleton on November 21, 1936 to the late Lawrence and Lois (Mueller) Huven. He graduated from Appleton West High School in 1955. On November 24, 1956 he married Donna Ellenbecker. Jim was a veteran of the Army, serving in Alaska. Jim drove ambulance for Larry’s Ambulance Service in Appleton. He was a Toastmaster and Safety Director. He enjoyed model trains and was a member of a train club in Kaukauna. He also liked to golf and was a scratch bowler. 

He will be sadly missed by: his wife, Donna of Waupaca; daughter, Laurel Lee (David) Huven Leder of Scandinavia; grandchildren, Jarrod (Laura) Leder of Whitebear Lake, MN; Abigail (special friend, Joe Krentz) of Portage; great-grandchildren, Gretchen and Claudia Leder, sisters-in-law, Marlene Birkholtz of Appleton and Yvonne (Dennis) Schoen of Caroline; many relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Timothy and Thomas and brothers-in-law, Raymond Ellenbecker Jr. and Gerald Birkholtz. 

The Funeral Service will be on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca. The visitation will be on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Appleton. The Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
