Tappa, Marian L.

Marian L. Tappa – age 91 – of Waupaca, WI passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Bethany Home in Waupaca. 

She was born on April 18, 1923 in Oconto, WI, the daughter of Arthur and Lena (Van Hulle) Windey. She married Leonard G. Tappa on December 29, 1945 in Oconto and he preceded her in death on March 19, 1993. Marian is survived by: three daughters, Joann (Dan) Rasmussen of Ogdensburg, Karen (Brian) Flanagan of Appleton, and Mary (Jeff) Finger of Waupaca; two sons, Ken (Linda) Tappa of Wild Rose, and Joe (Kim) Tappa of Green Bay; grandchildren: Scott (Jana) Tappa, Sara (Nick) Barbera, Andy (Cassie) Tappa, Ben Rasmussen, Michael Rasmussen, Tim Rasmussen, Paul (Gina) Flanagan, Erin Flanagan, Eric (Janna) Finger, Rebecca Finger, Laura Finger, Nick Tappa, Jennifer Tappa, and Megan Tappa, and great grandchildren: Will Tappa, Charlie Tappa, Cash Barbera, Lane Tappa, Blake Flanagan, Natalie Finger, and Lucas Finger. She is further survived by a sister-in-law, Delores Scheffen of Green Bay, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, her parents, seven sisters, three brothers, five sisters-in-law, and four brothers-in-law. 

Marian had been an elementary school teacher in Waupaca School System for many years. She was a very faithful member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca. She had been a long term volunteer at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI, having volunteered for several thousand hours, and she was also a very active fund raiser for Alzheimer’s Research. 

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca, WI with Father Richard Lesniak, Celebrant. Interment will be in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, WI. In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Marian L. Tappa. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI assisted the family with arrangements.
